Charity Involvement

The Black Death Crew

The Black Death Crew is a Star Wars and Disney fan group with over 400 members worldwide. The group started primarily through Instagram and uses its large network of members to spread information about families in need and whatever local charities that the crew wishes to represent. Rather than being called a Social Group or Social Club, the bDC calls themselves a Social Charity. At the end of the year, the bDC raised over $50,000 between 2014-2015 for multiple charities.

Currently, Greg is member #172 and has been involved with the bDC for two years. He is a member of the South-Eastern US squad, the Swamp Squadron. For more information on the crew and his squad, check out thebDC.org.

Extra-Life and Charity Streams

Extra-Life is a charity event hosted by the Children’s Miracle Network. Gamers around the world commit to playing games for 24 hours straight to raise money for their local CMN hospital. Greg has hosted Extra-Life events with the BADAS-Society for two years to raise money for the University of Florida’s Shand’s Children Hospital. In 2015, the BADAS-Society raised over $3,000 for Shand’s medical equipment and renovations. Thanks to this contribution, along with other gamers in Gainesville, Extra-Life established an official guild for the city. For more info on Extra-Life check out Extra-Life.org.

Greg also actively streams on his personal Twitch page to raise money for Extra-Life year round. He also raises money for the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research in honor of Nintendo’s late president, Satoru Iwata.
